Fallbrook Rice Canyon Fire 10:53 PM PST

The fire I photographed is about 4 miles north of the Old Bonsall Bridge. Just took a look about 5 minutes ago and it looks like it has calmed down a lot. However, I saw a similar situation earlier in the evening and then the fire came back with a vengence.

My parents live on the top of the mountain on Rainbow Heights. Can someone please tell me if their house is still there and where the fire is in relation to Rainbow Heights. They live at the top of the mountain above Rice Canyon. I am really worried and they have evacuated and know nothing. There is no new coverage! Please let me know. Thanks!

My parents live off of Mission, near where the old Pumpkin patch was. The police just came to their door and made them leave. The fire is coming over the ridge.

By the way, there are no firefighters fighting the fire. I guess there aren't any available. The fire is moving, unabated.

Is the pumpkin patch on Mission near the 15 freeway? Is it near Rainbow? Is Rainbow on fire? Please let me know. Thanks.

Does anyone think this is headed to De Luz?

My roommate's brothers are stuck in Fallbrook on the hill near South Mission and Sycamore Drive. They tried to evacuate earlier but traffic was so bad they had to turn around. Now they are trying to get out through Pendleton, but the battery in their car died. Does anyone have any ideas?

Sorry Paralegal no one seems to know about Rainbow. As far as I know it started there in Rice canyon but moved west and south ever since.

My parents live on Iowa St on the north side of town. At about 10pm, they were instructed to evacuate. They reported that at that time, there was no smoke blowing over that part of town, although they could see the smoke rising to the south. They received conflicting reports about E. Mission and I-15 being closed, so they evacuated to Temecula via Sandia Creek Rd., where traffic was light.

I've heard rumors that a school and or church have burned down. Does anyone know anything?

Paralegal, I keep hearing rumors about Rainbow and have been reading, listening and talking to people all night with no news. I don't think there is any fires over there.

So is the fire moving south of Fallbrook away from Rainbow and Temecula? Is Rice Canyon still on fire. Thanks to everyone checking on Rainbow for me!

Left Brookhills in fallbrook @ 4:15, took me 4 hrs. to go on mission toward DE Luz, turn right about 1/4 mile before paved road ends, then it will dump you out in temecula on Rancho Ca. Son up north knows more than we do here.

riverside county reports a wildlands fire at Rancho California Road and Vista Santa Rosa.

Paralegal - The old pumpkin patch is at Macadamia and Mission. Not sure where Rainbow is.

Are the reports from earlier that the fire was at Ranger and Mission accurate? Our parent's home is not far from there, and teying to get an update on the direction the fire is moving from that location.

My sister lives off of Reche Road in a mobile home park about a quarter of a mile from the old 395 road. Does anyone know about the mobile home park? I called her phone and it gave a busy signal but they are not there. They were evacuated this morning. Any news would be greatly appreciated. Any more news on Rainbow which is 15 minutes north of Fallbrook?

I believe that Sandia Creek Dr. is now paved all the way to Rancho Cal. Rd in Temecula. Take Deluz Rd. north from E. Mission (intersection is between N. Mission and Main St.) for about one mile to the bottom of the hill, then bare right on Sandia Creek where it splits off from Deluz Rd. Its at least 8 miles on Sandia Creek to Temecula. Parents made it in less than an hour at 10pm, but I'm not sure what traffic conditions are like now.

Todd, I'm Kyle Sytle's sister in law. My father in law just went on Gracey Lane and the neighborhood is still standing. Breathe a sigh of relief, for now.

Nehalennia said...

Nina Thank you very much
Is it Jim that is Kyle's Dad?

Nina's Mom,
Any update?

Thank you again

Yes, Jim is Kyle's dad and my father in law. No other updates as yet. Victoria has gone up from our place here in Downtown to be with Jim and her mother in O'Side.

Hi there...Jim and Victoria went back to get some medication last night and the house was still standing. The whole neighborhood was blessedly untouched. Jim sounded in good spirits when I spoke with him earlier today. Please pass on to Ed and Porfy.
