It is really hard to find coverage on the Fallbrook fire on T.V. Roads into Fallbrook have been closed. from my vantage point I am not seeing any spectacular fires. I am searching the net for anybody that has information on what is happening now. I had a friend that lives by the Golf Course. I have not been able to contact him.
If anybody living in Fallbrook who is still there post your link to my site and I will do same for you.

Do you know if homes have been destroyed in the vicinity of E Mission Rd & Macadamia Dr? I'm praying my in-laws' home made it.
Here's a map...

Sealight,
Thank you very much for your comments. I am hoping for the best for you, your family, and all those concerned about thier families.
Do you have any way of knowing if the fire has passed gird road?
Thanks,
Michele
North County Times posted an updated article this evening. Good news is that new crews arrived on scene from Northern California at 10:00 PM tonight. Here's the update (with some pictures!): http://www.nctimes.com/articles/2007/10/23/news/top_stories/10_67_3910_22_07.txt

KOGO has numerous reports from Fallbrook now talking about the winds picking up quite a bit at Mission and Highway 76. Fire still jumping across I-15 and very active. Near Mission Road up to Rainbow area.
Here's the update issued in the past 15 minutes or so from Village News: UPDATE (12:13 pm) The fire burning on the northeast side of fallbrook is getting a little bigger. It is believed to be the East Mission area. Fires are still being fought in the Gird area and on the 76/Pala Rd. area
Thank you moveamericaforward. The links you're posting are very helpful.
kat: This post at North County Times concerned me a bit from user "Ashley" as it sounds like the fire might be poking across Gird at a few isolated places at this point. This is unconfirmed, and many people have said it has flirted with Gird at points, but has not had a wholesale march past Gird. Also I've checked 2 answering machines on different homes on Green Canyon Road and both were working fine as of 5 minutes ago. Here's that post from Ashley regarding Gird: "Can see bouts of flame on the west ridge above Gird. Hasn't changed too much in the past couple hours, at least from this vantage point. Winds from the North East (bad for me!)"
My brother lives off of Sumac Ct in Fallbrook does anyone know if the fire has reached that point? We live in Washington State. Any info would be helpful.
How far up Reche Road has the fire burned?
Has the fire passed Live Oak Park?
Does anyone know about the Rancho Viejo development (Lake Circle Drive)? Has the fire gone south of the 76 on the East side of the 15?
Red Mountain is burning... http://www.thevillagenews.com/story.asp?story_ID=26162

Red Mountain Burning per Village News. Here's a live webcame of Red Mountain: http://archive.hpwren.ucsd.edu/cameras/RM.jpg
kat: Ahhh I should have seen your post first! The Red Mountain webcam is an interesting/scary site though!
Moveamerica, my inlaws live on Via Milpas, at the end of Macadamia. I'm watching that area closely. going to check out that webcam.
Just found this in a reply on the nctimes.com article...

" I just got back from a drive through part of east Fallbrook - with a police escort. It is surreal. Mission Road from the freeway to past Meagan's bluff is on fire on both sides. Live Oak is burning from Mission to at least Gum Tree. On Yucca Road, at least 4 homes on the east side of the street are gone, with grass fires going all over. The homes in danger all have eastern exposure. The CDF station and new nursery on Mission east of Ranger are completely engulfed at the hilltops with 20-30 foot flames. North of Mission road is now burning toward DeLuz. Ranger Road is completely charred - we could only go about a half mile south from Mission on Ranger, and it looked horrible. The homes between the Nursery/Ranger and Yucca are all in danger. Pretty much it will just depend on how the wind turns. Also - coming back to Temecula you can see the glow of new fire on the western side of the hills toward DeLuz... Do NOT take Deluz to try and get to Fallbrook. We all need to turn to God and pray for all who call Fallbrook home. "
kat: I'm grabbing a couple hours catnap myself. All the best to your in-laws!!! I really hope they can knock this fire down tonight before winds pick up and temps begin to rise again. Good luck!!
kat atonic thanks for posting Gordon' Comment. I was going to get some shut eye but went to my viewing spot. The fire is still on but from my vantage point looking North to Fallbrook it doesn't look bad. But as we all know, that could change quickly. Plus I heard what sounded like another fire truck on 76 headed for the fire--I hope.
You're welcome. It's 3am now, going to bed. I wish everyone safety.
does anyone have status of the threat of fire to Sunset Grove Rd off of Mission? My dear friends evacuated yesterday and any information you can give about their home will be passed on via cell.

Hi, I've posted my sister's pictures from about 7pm last night to my online gallery. She evacuated to Carlsbad after that.

I have sent an Email to News8, NBC 7/39 and Fox6. I'm going to check in an hour to see if I get a response back and I most definitely will let everyone know what is going on with the coverage.
friend drove down to live oak road near white fox run and gum tree. He said the fire has reached there but there are a lot of firemen working the fire. Pala Mesa Resort is OK some burn damage but still there. The Pala Mesa Condos are fine as well. Not so sure about the area around them. The fire is south and he can't tell if it is traveling up the 76 toward galaxy cinima. The fire north got to red mountain and the surrounding homes. de luz sandia creek area looks to be clear right now. I have other friends that are trying to get into fallbrook through that road right now. So I will update if that was possible or not.
de luz rd is closed 76 is open. fire looks like it got all the way to gird and not past.
they couldn't get through de luz. they got through the 76 and took some back roads to get into town. The south side looks like it is being held and wind is little to none. so some wishful thinking is in order. As far as deluz goes, there has been rumors of planes with fire retardant coming to support the fight.....finally. From looking in the deluz direction it doesn't look like it has gotten past red mountain but it is still burning out of control.....sorry!!
Does anyone know how far down E Mission the fire has gone. My sister lives off Santa Margarita and i have heard it went into SM Canyon - can anyone confirm that?
ya it is going up in santa margarita. its coming up from behind (the temecula way)
mc kenna- thanks for the info, i think.......
I just heard that they are holding the fire in the Santa Margarita drainage area, and that no homes have been lost in that area yet!
thanks be to God!
Any news about area off of Olive Hill Rd? I live on Futurity off Olive Hill (evacuated yesterday and not much news of Fallbrook in OC). My house is about a mile from the High School (Olive Hill & Mission) Thanks
Jan I am not sure about your area, sorry, but you can call cdf directly they are very helpful and don't mind the calls 619-590-3160 or go to the web @ www.fire.ca.gov/
God Bless you!
My email that was sent to Fox, NBC and CBS... Fox answered and they responded by sending someone to report the status over there. It looked like the wind was pretty strong and was on E. Mission Rd. and heading West. That's all that I was able to see.
